Federal Purchasing Sources

You can locate biobased products for purchase using the following sources:

The USDA BioPreferred Catalog: Companies with biobased products that meet established minimum biobased content criteria may enter their products into the USDA BioPreferred Program Catalog. You will not purchase products directly from this catalog; rather, you will be provided with sourcing information such as product detail and the company's website address.

GSA Advantage!: The General Services Administration describes GSA Advantage! as the federal government's premier online shopping superstore. With online access to millions of commercial products and services, GSA Advantage! ensures you are getting GSA-negotiated prices from GSA-approved sources. Under the Environmental Products search function, you may search specifically for products labeled as "BioPreferred."

AbilityOne Catalog: The AbilityOne Program is a Federal initiative to help people who are blind or have other significant disabilities to find employment. AbilityOne is organized in a national network of over 600 nonprofit agencies that sell products and services to the federal government. AbilityOne has made it a priority to offer biobased products in their catalog with over 100 biobased products currently listed in the catalog.

FedMall: The Department of Defense, Defense Logistics Agency, offers a catalog of products available for purchase within the Department of Defense. Authorized users can search for biobased products. A "green tree" logo helps in the search for biobased and "green" products.
